Practical 10 – Providing Oral Feedback
For this practical, you will work with two adult volunteers. Each volunteer needs to complete both the CARRUS Ability assessments and MTQ Plus before you can prepare and deliver their feedback.
Step 1 – Send the assessment links to your volunteers
Send both assessment links to each of your two volunteers:
CARRUS Ability:

Each volunteer must complete both the CARRUS Ability assessments and MTQ Plus.
When sending the links, make sure your volunteers understand that:
- they are completing the assessments as part of your Test User training;
- you will receive/access their results so that you can prepare their feedback;
- you will arrange an individual feedback session with them once they have completed both assessments; and
- their feedback session will need to be recorded for assessment purposes, so they must be comfortable with this before taking part.
Once your volunteers have completed the assessments the reports will be automatically emailed to you.
Step 2 – Prepare for your feedback sessions
Once your volunteers have completed both assessments and you have their results, review the results carefully and prepare an individual feedback session for each volunteer.
During each session, you will provide feedback on both the CARRUS Ability and MTQ Plus results.
Remember that psychometric results should be treated as hypotheses to be explored, rather than fixed descriptions of the individual. Give your volunteer the opportunity to comment on the findings and explore how these relate to their own experience. This discussion may confirm, add context to or challenge your initial interpretation.
Step 3 – Record your feedback sessions
You must record each feedback session so that your assessor can review your practical competence.
Before you begin recording, confirm that your volunteer understands that the recording is being made for assessment purposes and has agreed to this.
You will therefore make two recordings in total:
Recording 1: Volunteer 1 – CARRUS Ability + MTQ Plus feedback
Recording 2: Volunteer 2 – CARRUS Ability + MTQ Plus feedback
Step 4 – Upload your recordings
Once you have completed both feedback sessions, upload your two recordings for your assessor to review.
