Certified by AQR International and designed by their internationally recognised coaches, the Coaching Skills Foundation Programme introduces coaching to individuals who would like to incorporate coaching tools and techniques into their practice.

Delivered over five weeks, this programme consists of three one-day tutored sessions and two 60-minute virtual sessions, supported by online learning and coaching practice; it will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to coach effectively.

You will learn the essential pillars of great coaching conversations and how to effectively structure and facilitate a coaching conversation. You will also develop critical coaching skills such as active listening and questioning. 

This programme provides the opportunity for you to complete your own MTQPlus psychometric assessment and learn how psychometric tools and assessments can deepen your coaching conversations.

On completion of the programme, you have the potential to work towards a globally recognised Level 3 Foundation quality award in Coaching with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, one of the world’s leading coaching bodies. If you do not wish to pursue this, upon completion you will be awarded a certificate in coaching essentials from AQR International.

Programme Suitability and Entry Requirements

This programme is designed to be inclusive and accessible to individuals with a broad interest in coaching, regardless of their professional background. While learners may come with varying levels of experience, it is important that all candidates demonstrate a basic understanding of and exposure to coaching or mentoring.

To ensure the programme is the right fit, learners are asked to complete a Prior Learning Log as part of the application process. This log provides an opportunity to outline any relevant coaching or mentoring experience, whether formal or informal, and whether gained through paid work, voluntary roles, or personal development activities.

This information helps us assess each learner’s readiness for the programme and ensures everyone is supported appropriately throughout their learning journey.
