What could go wrong with the administration of the symbol search test (or a similar test) remotely?

In the previous question you were asked what could go wrong on the administration of the symbol search test (or similar test) remotely.  How could this be handled?

Imagine that you had to arrange an assessment session for 20 candidates for the symbol search test. The room you have available will only fit in 15 candidates comfortably and you can only have the room for 2 hours.  What things should you consider.

You are to provide accommodations for 2 candidates for an assessment. One is in a wheelchair and the other is hard of hearing.  What will you do to ensure adjustments are made ?

You should compose two emails, one for an online testing over zoom and one for testing in person at the ReSolve offices.  This should explain and instruct the candidate with the following:

• Equipment needed for the testing session.
• Instructions for the testing session.
• What happens after the testing session.

Instruct

• Acknowledge receipt of the invite
• Acceptance of appointment
• Give advice regarding disabilities that may require accommodations.
• Security of test materials

In preparation for the assessment session for the sift using the symbol search subtest, please write a briefing document to welcome candidates explaining about the test and the testing session.

You are now required to set up an online testing session (you can do this either via zoom or teams or any video platform). This is a role play situation, you do not need to have actual candidates there but you are required to welcome your candidates using your own briefing plus the briefing from the symbol search subtest.  Please record your session and upload the recording  for marking.

The second stage of the selection campaign for the role of CSR involves taking the CARRUS verbal abilities. 

Those that have reached the standard on the processing speed test are now asked to take the CARRUS verbal ability test.  The CARRUS verbal ability test measures the ability to identify relevant information and draw logical conclusions from written information.  This has also been identified as being crucial to the CSR role.  This forms part of the assessments that will be taking place and they later involve work sample test and an interview. 

Drew Kingston would like you to familiarise yourself with this test, invite the candidates to take this test.  In preparation for this, please read the CARRUS instruction manual and draft an email to candidates.

• What the CARRUS ability test measure and how this relates to the job applied for.
• When the test link will be delivered to their email address.
• How to go about completing the test (to include conditions that will set the candidate up for their best performance.
• A link to practice questions.
• What happens after the testing session (to include how results will reported, stored and who will have access to them and what feedback will be given).

Instruct
